Elon Musk, the prominent figure who once helmed X, previously known as Twitter, has made public his observations about his estranged transgender daughter, Vivian Jenna Wilson. He shared that after attending a prestigious California school, Wilson underwent a significant shift in her ideological perspective and began identifying as a “communist” with disdain for wealth. Musk, the CEO who holds the reins of several successful companies including Tesla, expressed that the emotional strain of their estrangement weighed heavier on him than the loss of his infant son Nevada.

In an excerpt from the upcoming biography “Elon Musk” by Walter Isaacson, featured in the Wall Street Journal, the 52-year-old entrepreneur revealed these revelations. Although he was initially supportive of his child’s journey through gender transition, circumstances took an unexpected turn in April 2022 when Wilson, aged 19, severed all connections with her father and adopted Marxist beliefs.

Musk disclosed

“Her ideologies extended beyond socialism to embrace full communism, along with a belief that individuals of wealth are inherently malevolent.” Despite his numerous attempts to reconnect with her, Wilson remains steadfast in her decision to keep her distance.

The former CEO of X, whose financial worth stands at $257.5 billion, attributed part of the transformation to the Crossroads School for Arts & Sciences in Santa Monica, where Wilson received her education. He asserted that the institution had exposed her to what he termed the “woke mind virus.”

The prestigious K-12 establishment, which commands tuition fees of up to $50,000 per annum, boasts a roster of notable alumni including Jack Black and Zooey Deschanel. It is alleged that the school instilled in Wilson a sense of disdain for affluence, including her father’s.

Musk likened this phenomenon to a prevailing attitude found within certain domains such as Twitter and various liberal universities, where a strain of “neo-Marxism” stifles voices that hold conservative or anti-establishment viewpoints.

This context sheds light on Musk’s decision to acquire Twitter for $44 billion in October 2022, a move he characterized as that of a “fire-breathing dragon.” He aimed to fortify the platform’s commitment to free expression and to counteract what he perceives as a “woke” culture that has contributed to the emotional estrangement from his daughter.

It is not the first instance where Musk has voiced criticism against elite educational institutions for propagating ideologies he associates with “wokeness.” In October 2021, he commented on the infiltration of “neo-Marxist” influences within these establishments, influencing students to harbor negative sentiments towards affluent individuals.
