Rangdajied United FC Crush Sein Pynbhalang 6-0 in Meghalaya State League 2023

Rangdajied United FC thrashed Sein Pynbhalang 6-0 in their Group B match of the 2023 Meghalaya State League at the Kiang Nangbah Stadium in Jowai on Tuesday.

In the other Group A match played in Shillong, Jyntru FC and Umrit SC played out a 1-1 draw. In Group D, Selsella Sports Association defeated Warima Youth Club 3-1 in Tura.

Rangdajied now top Group B with 10 points from four matches, followed by Sein Pynbhalang with six points from four matches. Jyntru FC are third with four points from three matches, while Umrit SC are fourth with three points from three matches.

In the match against Sein Pynbhalang, Rangdajied took the lead in the 19th minute through Banshanbha Khongsdam. They doubled their lead in the 30th minute through Wanlamsuk Nongkhlaw.

Rangdajied scored three more goals in the second half through Tremiki Lamurong (63rd, 76th, 77th) and Khongsdam (75th).

The win takes Rangdajied to the top of Group B, while Sein Pynbhalang remain in third place.

The next round of matches in the Meghalaya State League will be played on May 28

Rangdajied United FC started the match on the front foot and created several chances in the opening minutes. They took the lead in the 19th minute when Banshanbha Khongsdam headed home a corner kick from Wanlamsuk Nongkhlaw.

Sein Pynbhalang had a chance to equalize in the 25th minute, but their striker missed a sitter from close range. Rangdajied doubled their lead in the 30th minute when Nongkhlaw scored from a free kick.

Rangdajied continued to dominate the match in the second half and scored three more goals in the space of four minutes. Tremiki Lamurong scored twice in the 63rd and 76th minutes, and Khongsdam scored his second goal of the match in the 77th minute.

The win was a comprehensive one for Rangdajied United FC, who are now top of Group B. Sein Pynbhalang remain in third place, but they will be disappointed with their performance in this match.
